happenstance is a quirky crew of nine self-proclaimed artists, illustrators, writers, and comic-loving nerds who create and play on the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations—otherwise known as Vancouver. Born in 2023, we’re a colorful mix of creative minds, diving into everything from murals to comics, UX design, printmaking, art books, and beyond. What ties us together? A passion for doing our own thing! From exploring identity and culture to tackling mental health, self-reflection, environmentalism, and spinning unforgettable stories, we’re all about bringing our imagination to life—one brushstroke, panel, or page at a time.
